Case Study - The Wilkes Partnership
The Wilkes Partnership, a well established Birmingham based law practice, has recently taken delivery of a new fleet of MFDs supplied by Complete Imaging plc.
Founded in 1933 as a general practice and expanded over the years through a series of strategic takeovers, the firm provides its commercial and private clients with a full range of legal services including tax planning, asset management, wills, trusts and probate.
The current staff of over 20 partners, 120 associates, assistant solicitors and support staff, are based in the centre of Birmingham where the firm’s offices are equipped with the latest IT systems to facilitate company-wide file sharing, file management and archiving and cost recovery.
Wilkes had previously relied on a fleet of mono copiers that were positioned around the premises, serving partners and staff on a ‘walk-up, walk-away’ basis. The new network of MFDs has been designed to offer an increased range of services to staff using equipment that is placed at key sites around the offices. Supported by Complete Imaging’s Pre-emptive Maintenance Programme, the new equipment is delivering the quality and services that the company specified, along with greatly improved reliability over previous equipment resulting in minimal machine downtime.
Comprising of a mix of Ricoh and Sharp MFDs (multi-functional devices – print, copy, scan, fax and e-mail), the network includes the latest Equitrac 5.1 print management software producing real-time cost and equipment usage analysis.
Phil Yates, practice manager, explains: ‘‘We needed to be sure that the new MFDs would deliver the reliability that our print-heavy office demands. Complete Imaging satisfied us that the latest equipment could offer increased productivity, an extended range of services, including colour on selected machines, and, with their Pre-emptive Maintenance Programme and fast engineer call-outs, the reliability that our company depends upon’’.
